- Reverted to Skyhook Wireless for map geolocation, Google's service proved to be inaccurate.
- Fixed inaccurate map issues
- Location search based on IP address if initial SkyHook search fails
- Collects visible WiFi network names
- Fixed a permissions error
- Other minor improvements

- We now use Google for map geolocation
- Fixed the map issues on Lion

Joshua Kaufman had his MacBook stolen from his Oakland apartment in March. He’s been using Hidden to capture photos of the thief and posting them on a Tumblr blog!

We're sad to announce that we are ending the Christmas promotion 7 days early. The response has been far greater than we ever imagined and it's starting to cause problems for our paying users, which isn't fair.
We'd like to congratulate the many tens of thousands of users who managed to get a free license during the 3 week promotion, and offer our condolences to the people who didn't.

It’s been a while since our last update and we’ve been really busy working on loads of new stuff! The website and control panel interface have had a complete overhaul, we’ve implemented a new serial number registration process, added a new screen cast of Hidden in action, but most importantly, we’ve released version 1.2!

We have updated the control panel to display your devices in grid format instead of the old table (which was getting a bit cramped) and you now have the option to 'Edit' your device, which includes changing the name and serial number...

Today we are releasing version 1.1, the second public release to date. It contains a few bug fixes and is packed full of improvements that will allow us to bring you some exciting new features in the very near future.

MacTalk Australia have written a great review of hidden.
"Hidden can track your Mac’s location, plus provide you with photos from the iSight’s camera and more. How much do you ask? A one off fee of $20 per laptop. Not much to have a ‘just-in-case’ policy for your laptop."

"Now a new name has appeared in the field; hidden. The name is apt, since there's no visible sign on the computer that the software has been installed. There's no app in the applications folder, and no preference pane. To use the application, you simply download and install it, then restart your Mac."...
